\nRead in the midst of the pandemic, this book finds me particularly sensitive to social relations as described by the author. As we die of isolation, the author compares William’s existence in New York, and in Ecotopia: there, there is more isolation than here. From his hotel room, he hears an altercation and becomes the witness of an extremely violent romantic argument. First in words, then the couple hit it off. When the man seems ready to smash his partner’s head against a wall, the witnesses hold him back. But they let less dangerous blows trade. The couple literally ends<\/span><\/em> their quarrel and after this fight, they fall crying into each other’s arms.

It is a family in the broad sense, regardless of whether there is a degree of kinship.
