Je pr\u00e9parais le repas ce matin de mai 2014, pendant que Hilde et Bianca travaillaient avec Paul au jardin. Pas de probl\u00e8me pour Steffi, elle conna\u00eet aussi le flamand et communique avec aisance aussi bien avec Hilde qu\u2019avec Bianca.<\/strong>

Au mois de mai, le travail au jardin ne manque pas, une paire de bras suppl\u00e9mentaire ce n\u2019est jamais de refus\u00a0! Mais Help X, \u00e7a veut dire \u00ab\u00a0\u00e9change d\u2019aide\u00a0\u00bb, il y a un contrat, quelques heures de travail en \u00e9change du g\u00eete et des repas. Paul et moi estimons qu\u2019un mi-temps, environ vingt heures par semaine, c\u2019est correct – cela d\u00e9pend aussi des t\u00e2ches, certaines sont tr\u00e8s p\u00e9nibles et il faut limiter les horaires.<\/strong>
\nIn May, there is no shortage of work in the garden, an extra pair of arms is never refused! But Help X means \u00ab\u00a0exchange of help\u00a0\u00bb, there is a contract, a few hours of work in exchange for room and meals. C\u2019est injuste, elle travaille et m\u00eame si nous lui faisons des petits cadeaux, pots de confiture, l\u00e9gumes, fruits, nous aimerions la d\u00e9dommager de fa\u00e7on moins symbolique.<\/strong>
\nSteffi prefers to return to Chamb\u00e9ry even though Jordi is currently in Shanghai for his job. It’s unfair, she works and even if we give her little gifts, jars of jam, vegetables, fruit, we would like to compensate her in a less symbolic way.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Dans les jours, les semaines et m\u00eame les mois qui suivent, Steffi revient souvent et son aide est pr\u00e9cieuse. Une solide amiti\u00e9 se construit autour de ses visites plaisantes. Apr\u00e8s le d\u00e9part de Hilde et Bianca, elle rencontre Pepe, Espagnol, Jenni, Ta\u00efwanaise, puis la Chinoise Tingong et l\u2019Etasunienne Janet. Plus tard nous recevons aussi la Chinoise Manlin.<\/strong>
\nIn the days, weeks and even months that follow, Steffi returns often and her help is invaluable. A solid friendship is built around her pleasant visits. After Hilde and Bianca leave, she meets Pepe, Spanish, Jenni, Taiwanese, then Chinese Tingong and American Janet. Later we also receive the Chinese Manlin.\"\"<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\nAnd of course she meets Ariane and Renato who are still our not too distant neighbors. Both are very interested in Help X and Workaway, more often than not our visitors’ comments refer to meals at home, and if the weather permits a dip in their swimming pool.\"\"<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

En juillet, nous organisons notre cinqui\u00e8me spectacle \u00e0 domicile\u00a0! \u00c7a ne s\u2019appelle pas encore \u00ab\u00a0Kalyneries Paulifauniques\u00a0\u00bb, mais ce sont des moments conviviaux qui laissent des souvenirs inoubliables. Ce jour-l\u00e0, nous recevons le groupe Mamaz\u00a0: deux jeunes chanteuses ambitieuses, Mathilde et Manon, se marchent sur les pieds, chacune souhaitant faire conna\u00eetre son talent, et leur accompagnateur est leur souffre-douleur. <\/strong>
\nIn July, we are having our fifth home show! It\u2019s not yet called \u00ab\u00a0Kalyneries Paulifauniques\u00a0\u00bb, but these are friendly moments that leave unforgettable memories. Les visites de Steffi se font plus rares, nous \u00e9changeons les nouvelles pour garder le contact. Une ann\u00e9e en Autriche, un retour en France et puis\u2026 la naissance d\u2019une petite Ma\u00e9va. Je crois qu\u2019elle a quatre ans maintenant. Nous rencontrons la fillette, ses parents et ses grands-parents \u00e0 l\u2019occasion d\u2019un autre moment fort sympathique, le festival Artz\u00e9bouille \u00e0 C\u00e9z\u00e9rieu. <\/strong>
\nSteffi’s visits are rarer, we exchange news to keep in touch. A year in Austria, a return to France and then … the birth of a little Ma\u00e9va. I believe she is four years old now. We meet the girl, her parents and her grandparents for another very nice moment, the Artz\u00e9bouille festival in C\u00e9z\u00e9rieu.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Comme il est impossible de se r\u00e9unir en vrai, Jordi souhaite demander aux proches de Steffi de lui faire parvenir une petite vid\u00e9o. Il regroupera tous les envois. Je trouve que c\u2019est une chouette id\u00e9e de cadeau, surtout dans ce contexte de distance et d\u2019isolement. Garder le contact par tous les moyens, trouver de nouvelles formules.<\/strong>
\nAs it is impossible to meet in real life, Jordi wants to ask Steffi’s relatives to send him a small video. He will regroup all the shipments. I find it a great gift idea, especially in this context of distance and isolation. Keep in touch by all means, find new formulas.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\nI had had success with my bard costume, Paul has good medieval warrior gear: the idea immediately springs to us to sing a little song, with the obvious consequence that strikes Assurancetourix with every attempt.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Quand nous avons fait notre petite vid\u00e9o, je portais toujours l\u2019orth\u00e8se, et de toute fa\u00e7on il m\u2019est encore impossible d\u2019enfiler des v\u00eatements ajust\u00e9s\u00a0: la tunique, niet. Ni une, ni deux, je l\u2019ai accroch\u00e9e sur mon pull avec des pinces \u00e0 linge. Lavande a bien compris qu\u2019il s\u2019agissait d\u2019ajuster, r\u00e9flexe de couturi\u00e8re. <\/strong>

Ces rencontres \u00ab\u00a0Help X\u00a0\u00bb ou \u00ab\u00a0Workaway\u00a0\u00bb connaissent parfois des prolongations, indices de bonnes relations\u00a0: Hilde, nous l\u2019avions rencontr\u00e9e chez elle auparavant. Janet revenait nous voir deux ans apr\u00e8s sa premi\u00e8re visite. Nous avons revu Tinghong\u2026 Steffi n\u2019est pas la seule personne rencontr\u00e9e par ce moyen et que nous avons revue\u00a0!<\/strong>
\nI have delved into my archives and hundreds of photos to tell you how we became friends with Steffi. It stirred up many memories. These \u00ab\u00a0Help X\u00a0\u00bb or \u00ab\u00a0Workaway\u00a0\u00bb meetings sometimes have extensions, signs of good relations: Hilde, we had met her at her place before. Janet was coming back to see us two years after her first visit. We saw Tinghong again\u2026 Steffi is not the only person we have met by this means and whom we have seen again!\"\"<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Chaque nouvelle personne qui nous contacte par Help X ou par Workaway, puis qui vient chez nous, c\u2019est une aventure diff\u00e9rente. Avec pas loin de 90 personnes rencontr\u00e9es depuis 2012, nous nous sommes confront\u00e9s \u00e0 toutes sortes de cultures, toutes sortes de personnalit\u00e9s. L\u2019enrichissement est r\u00e9ciproque, ces rencontres nous font voyager sans bouger de chez nous.<\/strong>
\nEvery new person who contacts us through Help X or Workaway and then comes to us is a different adventure. With nearly 90 people we have met since 2012, we have been confronted with all kinds of cultures, all kinds of personalities. The enrichment is mutual, these encounters make us travel without leaving home.\"\"<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Or, tout est devenu provisoirement impossible, et nous ne pouvons que d\u00e9plorer de voir s\u2019\u00e9tioler notre capital \u00ab\u00a0rencontres\u00a0\u00bb. L\u2019an dernier, dans le cadre de ces \u00e9changes, nous avons pu accueillir seulement Julie et sa fille Zo\u00e9, qui ont r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 passer la fronti\u00e8re entre deux confinements. Nous mesurons la grave carence sociale que g\u00e9n\u00e8rent ces limitations de d\u00e9placements (limitations que je regrette, mais que je ne suis pas certaine de critiquer).<\/strong>

Elle, elle conna\u00eet tous ces gens, elle a d\u00fb \u00eatre folle de joie de les retrouver si nombreux\u00a0! Jordi a eu une id\u00e9e g\u00e9niale.<\/strong>
