En fran\u00e7ais, apr\u00e8s…<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Claudi :<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

It started with a hunger to experience a new world and ended with being one of the best choices I have ever made.<\/span><\/p>\n

Once you realise that we are all the same, everything simplifies, fear gets pushed aside and one is left with a desire to talk to strangers. Without being too optimistic, there has been challenges and constant tests but if I didn’t take this chance, I would not have learnt about a different culture and all it has to offer.<\/span><\/p>\n

I am astonished by how fast the human brain can adapt, after a few days everything seems normal, as if I have lived here all my life.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Then, I go to a Christmas concert in a tiny town hall or sit and have a meal with everyone speaking French and I have a crashing realisation just\u00a0 how lucky I am.<\/span><\/p>\n

Medieval cathedrals, quaint roads covered in cobblestones and detailed architecture is beautiful, but what is a photograph without a person in it, dead essentially. It’s all the strangers I have met along the way that has made this trip so magical. I return with new friends and incredible tales.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kaly<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/strong>It is the first time when I am considered to be a stranger in my home. But, after reflection, why not?<\/span><\/p>\n

2012 was the year of our first experiences with \u00ab\u00a0Help x\u00a0\u00bb, 2013 is already one of its promises of wonder and joy.<\/span><\/p>\n

Claudi came to our home on January the 2th, for two weeks. Previously, the process of obtaining a visa from South Africa was a real fight, but she was determined and nothing could divert her from her project.<\/span><\/p>\n

But she is not afraid of anything, neither petty administrative annoyances, nor of chainsaw, nor of traveling alone. Or of eating French cheese!, and all of this gave us a very pleasant company.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

There is few work in the garden, only picking salad and harvesting carrots. But we must cut down trees, shape the wood, sort it and store or grind it. Claudi discovers the \u00ab goyarde \u00bb. She likes to run, but here the muscles of her arms will grow more than her legs!<\/span><\/p>\n

She will be made of iron !<\/span><\/p>\n

The neighbors bought firewood that was delivered: we were seven to form a chain for storaging it so fast!<\/span><\/p>\n

Claudi is everywhere to participate to all of this. She discovers the farm that all helpers discover one day, she sees the Mont Blanc, which is rare, when the days are cloudy on January.<\/span><\/p>\n

Paul and I spent a day with her in Lyon. Grenoble is also planned.<\/span><\/p>\n

Claudi has prepared an excellent milktart, and she is now making a curry: we wait for it impatiently!<\/span><\/p>\n

I am happy for the interest that she gives to the French songs, that are difficult to understand. She plans to go and listen to R\u00e9mo Gary at the Limonaire in Paris, the day when she departs.<\/span><\/p>\n

I know where Africa is, of course, and I have heard about Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria… but I can’t say that I know them! A few pieces of this foreign and distant country come with her and maybe make it more known to me.<\/span><\/p>\n

Claudi<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Une fringale \u00e0 exp\u00e9rimenter un monde nouveau \u00e0 abouti \u00e0 un des meilleurs choix que j’ai jamais faits.<\/span><\/p>\n

Une fois qu’on a r\u00e9alis\u00e9 qu’on est tous les m\u00eames, tout se simplifie, la peur est repouss\u00e9e et l’on se retrouve \u00e0 d\u00e9sirer parler avec des \u00e9trangers. Je ne suis pas trop optimiste : j’ai d\u00fb constamment me confronter \u00e0 des d\u00e9fis et des \u00e9preuves, mais si je n’avais pas saisi cette chance, je n’aurais rien appris au sujet d’une culture diff\u00e9rente et de tout ce qu’elle a \u00e0 offrir.<\/span><\/p>\n

Je suis sid\u00e9r\u00e9e de la vitesse avec laquelle le cerveau humain peut s’adapter. Apr\u00e8s quelques jours, tout semble normal, comme si j’avais pass\u00e9 l\u00e0 toute ma vie.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ainsi, je vais \u00e0 un concert de No\u00ebl dans une minuscule mairie, ou encore je m’assois et je prends un repas avec chacun parlant fran\u00e7ais, et je prends soudain conscience de la chance que j’ai.<\/span><\/p>\n

Les cath\u00e9drales m\u00e9di\u00e9vales, les pittoresques rues pav\u00e9es et les d\u00e9tails d’architecture sont beaux, mais une photo sans personne dessus est morte par essence. Ce sont tous les \u00e9trangers rencontr\u00e9s au long de mon chemin qui ont rendu ce voyage si magique. Je repars avec de nouveaux amis et des histoires incroyables.<\/span><\/p>\n

C’est la premi\u00e8re fois que je suis consid\u00e9r\u00e9e comme une \u00e9trang\u00e8re en \u00e9tant chez moi. Mais \u00e0 la r\u00e9flexion, pourquoi pas ?<\/span><\/p>\n

2012 a \u00e9t\u00e9 l’ann\u00e9e de nos premi\u00e8res exp\u00e9riences avec \u00ab\u00a0Help x\u00a0\u00bb, 2013 tient d\u00e9j\u00e0 ses promesses d’\u00e9merveillement et de joie.<\/span><\/p>\n

Claudi est arriv\u00e9e chez nous le 2 janvier pour deux semaines. Auparavant, les d\u00e9marches pour obtenir son visa depuis l’Afrique du Sud ont \u00e9t\u00e9 un vrai combat, mais elle \u00e9tait d\u00e9termin\u00e9e et rien n’a pu la d\u00e9tourner de son projet.<\/span><\/p>\n

Elle n’a peur de rien, ni des tracasseries administratives, ni de la tron\u00e7onneuse, ni de voyager seule. Ni de manger les fromages fran\u00e7ais !, et cela nous a donn\u00e9 une bien plaisante compagnie.<\/span><\/p>\n

Peu de choses \u00e0 faire au jardin, si ce n’est la cueillette de la salade et la r\u00e9colte des carottes. Mais il faut abattre des arbres, fa\u00e7onner le bois, le trier, le ranger ou le broyer. Claudi d\u00e9couvre la goyarde. Elle aime courir, mais ici ses bras se d\u00e9velopperont plus que ses jambes !<\/span><\/p>\n

Elle aura des muscles d’acier !<\/span><\/p>\n

Les voisins ont fait livrer du bois de chauffage : nous ferons la cha\u00eene \u00e0 sept pour le ranger \u00e0 une vitesse impressionnante !<\/span><\/p>\n

Claudi est partout pour participer \u00e0 tout cela. Elle d\u00e9couvre la ferme que tous les helpers d\u00e9couvrent un jour, elle aper\u00e7oit le Mont Blanc qui est rare, quand les jours de janvier sont nuageux.<\/span><\/p>\n

Paul et moi avons pass\u00e9 avec elle une journ\u00e9e \u00e0 Lyon. Grenoble est aussi au programme.<\/span><\/p>\n

Je suis heureuse de l’int\u00e9r\u00eat qu’elle porte aux chansons fran\u00e7aises, pourtant difficiles \u00e0 comprendre. Elle a pr\u00e9vu d’aller \u00e9couter R\u00e9mo Gary au Limonaire \u00e0 Paris, le jour o\u00f9 elle va quitter le Charbinat.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bien s\u00fbr je peux situer l’Afrique, et j’ai entendu parler du Cap, de Johannesbourg, de Pr\u00e9toria… Je ne peux pas dire que je les connais ! Mais quelques parcelles de ce lointain pays sont entr\u00e9s ici avec elle. Et l’ont un peu rapproch\u00e9 de chez nous.<\/span><\/p>\n
