\nLe 19 mars, nous l\u2019attendions. Paul et moi avions quelques rangements \u00e0 faire, la chambre d\u2019Alan \u00e9tait pr\u00eate.
\n\"\"<\/a>\u00a0En regardant dehors, je vois une voiture, une voiture venant d\u2019Angleterre\u00a0: depuis combien de temps est-elle l\u00e0\u00a0? Al a camp\u00e9 sous la pluie, pas loin d\u2019ici, aussi s\u2019est-il r\u00e9veill\u00e9 t\u00f4t et il a atteint notre maison le matin. Depuis, il attend patiemment car il n\u2019a vu personne.
\nLa tente est tremp\u00e9e.
\n\u00c0 Morestel il a trouv\u00e9 une p\u00e2tisserie pour son petit d\u00e9jeuner.
\nLa pratique du CouchSurfing nous avait bien habitu\u00e9s \u00e0 rencontrer des inconnus, dont on consulte le profil, bien s\u00fbr, mais cela n\u2019est qu\u2019un d\u00e9but, une porte ouverte\u00a0: la relation commence apr\u00e8s, quand on se rencontre.
\nQuelle relation \u00e9quilibr\u00e9e, que nous ne souhaitions surtout pas autoritaire, peut-on \u00e9tablir avec des gens qui viennent, et c\u2019est la base m\u00eame de l\u2019accord, pour travailler pour nous en \u00e9change du logement et de la nourriture\u00a0?
\nLa r\u00e9ponse est venue tout de suite\u00a0! Cela se fait tout simplement, naturellement, comme sans y penser.
\nNous avons bu un caf\u00e9, fait visiter la maison et les ext\u00e9rieurs \u00e0 Al.
\n\"\"<\/a>\u00a0L\u2019apr\u00e8s-midi, Al a transport\u00e9 pas loin d\u2019une tonne de grosses pierres, pour que Paul construise un nouveau petit jardin en hauteur.
\nDeux jours auparavant, nous avions aid\u00e9 un ami \u00e0 couper les grosses branches d\u2019un saule, (pour qu\u2019elles ne cassent pas \u00e0 cause de leur poids) nous avions broy\u00e9 ce bois\u00a0: je travaille avec Al pour transporter ce \u201cbroyat\u201d qui fermente d\u00e9j\u00e0 et fume. Nous constituons un \u00e9pais matelas au pied des arbustes de nos haies.<\/p>\n

Le travail est dur, mais le soir, Al fait un grand sourire et d\u00e9clare que c\u2019\u00e9tait une excellente journ\u00e9e.
\nComme il le d\u00e9clarera chaque jour, avec une bonne humeur constante et plaisante.<\/p>\n

Nous avons eu beaucoup de raisons d\u2019appr\u00e9cier sa pr\u00e9sence comme quand il a refendu notre bois de chauffage \u00e0 la hache. Efficace\u00a0!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\u00a0Nous avons beaucoup aim\u00e9 sa cuisine. Et sa fa\u00e7on d\u2019aimer tout ce que nous lui proposons. Les Anglais ne sont pas aussi difficiles que ce qu\u2019on nous avait dit…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>\u00a0Nous avons eu le plaisir de faire quelques balades dans la r\u00e9gion, avec Al, et aussi avec son amie Hannah. Avant leur d\u00e9part, nous leur avons donn\u00e9 des conseils pour visiter les ch\u00e2teaux cathares du sud de la France, ils ont beaucoup appr\u00e9ci\u00e9.
\nLe plus important\u00a0? Al a aim\u00e9 aussi la rencontre avec une p\u00e2tissi\u00e8re de Morestel, enchant\u00e9e de rencontrer un amateur, ravie de nous faire visiter l\u2019arri\u00e8re-boutique…<\/p>\n

Al a fait une seule erreur\u00a0: il ne nous a pas pr\u00e9venus au moment de revenir nous voir au Charbinat avec Hannah, en septembre, dans un gros camping-car avec lequel ils ont fait un magnifique tour de France. Mais… notre helpeuse Fiona \u00e9tait partie juste avant… Ils n\u2019ont pas pu se rencontrer.
\nUn autre jour, j\u2019esp\u00e8re\u00a0?<\/p>\n

\nOn the 19th of March, we were waiting for him. Paul and I had to put a few things in order, Alan\u2019s room was ready…<\/span><\/p>\n

Looking outside, I see a car, a car coming from England\u00a0: how long has it been there\u00a0? Al had camped in the rain, not far from here, so he awoke early and reached our home during the morning. Since then, he waits patiently because he saw nobody.<\/span>
\nThe tent was soaked.<\/span>
\n\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>\u00a0In Morestel he found a pastry shop for breakfast.<\/span><\/p>\n

With CouchSurfing, we are quite accustomed to meeting unknown people. Of course we consult their profile, but this is only the beginning, an opened door\u00a0: the relationship starts later, when we meet.<\/span><\/p>\n

We wish to establish a balanced and not authoritarian relationship, with those who come (and this is the basis of the agreement), to work for us in exchange of housing and food. But how do we do this\u00a0?<\/span><\/p>\n

The answer came immediately\u00a0! This is done simply, naturally, without thinking.<\/span>
\nWe drank coffee, and Al visited the place with us.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the afternoon, Al carried away nearly a ton of big stones, so that could Paul build a new raised garden.<\/span>
\nTwo days ago, we helped a friend cutting large branches of a willow (so they would not break, because they were so heavy), we chipped the wood. I work with Al to carry the woodchips that are already fermenting and smoking. We spread out it to form a thick bed at the foot of our shrubs hedges.<\/span><\/p>\n

The work is hard, but in the evening, Al has a big smile and says that it was a great day, as he will declare each day, with a constant good humor and fun.<\/span><\/p>\n

We had a lot of reasons to enjoy his presence,\u00a0like the way he swung the axe when he cut the firewood. Efficient\u00a0!<\/span>
\n\"\"<\/a>\u00a0We loved his cooking. And his way of loving what we offered him. The English are not as difficult as what we were told…<\/span><\/p>\n

We had the pleasure to do some walks in the region, with Al, and his girlfriend, Hannah.<\/span><\/p>\n

Most important\u00a0? Al really enjoyed meeting a pastry chef in Morestel. She was so happy to meet him, and to invite us to visit the backroom.<\/span><\/p>\n

Upon their departure we gave them information to visit the Cathar castles in the south of France. They enjoyed them a lot\u00a0!<\/span><\/p>\n
