Kristen et David ont quitt\u00e9 le Canada en juin l’ann\u00e9e derni\u00e8re, pour un long voyage qu’ils racontent dans un blog d\u00e9di\u00e9<\/a>. Ils feront ici le dernier s\u00e9jour workaway avant de retourner chez eux – lourde responsabilit\u00e9 pour nous, il faut que \u00e7a se termine en beaut\u00e9 !
\nKristen and David left Canada in June last year for a long trip they tell in a dedicated blog<\/a>. They will do the last workaway stay here before returning home – heavy responsibility for us, it must end in beauty!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Enrico \u00e9tait l\u00e0 \u00e0 leur arriv\u00e9e : pour Paul c’est toujours difficile et compliqu\u00e9 de g\u00e9rer trois personnes peu famili\u00e8res des lieux ! Il leur a donc fait faire un des bricolages urgents, passer de l’huile de lin sur des portes et une fen\u00eatre, pendant que Enrico conduisait la tondeuse. Moi, j’\u00e9tais aux fourneaux.
\nEnrico was there when they arrived: for Paul it’s always difficult and complicated to manage three people who don’t know the place! So he asked them to do one of the urgent things, put flaxseed oil on doors and a window, while Enrico was driving the mower. I was cooking.
\n\"\"<\/a>
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ce soir-l\u00e0 Enrico pr\u00e9pare des p\u00e2tes \u00e0 la carbonara et un sabayon. Plus tard, David se met au piano, je lui installe l’ampli et le micro, et comme je connais les morceaux qu’il joue je chante pour l’accompagner : un moment tout improvis\u00e9 bien plaisant.
\nThat evening Enrico cooks carbonara pasta and a sabayon. Later, David goes to the piano, I install him the amp and the mic, and as I know the songs he plays I sing to accompany him: a nice improvised moment.

\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/strong>Kristen est embauch\u00e9e pour des travaux minutieux de d\u00e9sherbage dans les fraisiers et les minuscules carottes. David est bien plus grand que moi, mais il peut passer ma combinaison, c\u2019est tellement mieux pour le rotofil. Ensuite, David rejoint Enrico dans l\u2019Enfer Vert des Bambous.
\nKristen is hired for careful weeding in strawberries and tiny carrots. David is much taller than me, but he can wear my overall, it’s so much better for the weed wacker. Then, David joins Enrico in the Green Hell of Bamboos.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Alors que Kristen se repose tranquillement, je fais un tour en v\u00e9lo avec David et Enrico, mais le v\u00e9lo de David n\u2019est pas r\u00e9gl\u00e9 \u00e0 sa taille, il a du mal dans la mont\u00e9e de Serm\u00e9rieu\u00a0!
\nWhile Kristen is resting quietly, I go for a bike ride with David and Enrico, but David’s bike is not set to his size, he has problem in the uphill part of Serm\u00e9rieu!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kristen fait avec encore une fois beaucoup de soin un travail assez long avec l\u2019huile de lin\u00a0: laver des volets avant de les huiler, enlever l\u2019exc\u00e8s d\u2019huile pass\u00e9e la veille et qui a p\u00e9n\u00e9tr\u00e9 le bois, passer l\u2019huile sur de nouvelles huisseries\u2026
\n\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>
\nKristen is once again doing very carefully a lot of work with flaxseed oil: washing the shutters before oiling them, removing the excess oil passed the day before and penetrating the wood, passing the oil on new door frames …<\/strong><\/p>\n

Enrico va \u00e0 Cr\u00e9mieu en v\u00e9lo, Paul rejoint en voiture avec Kristen et David. Ils font une visite rapide de la cit\u00e9. Ce soir, nous avons invit\u00e9 Ariane et Renato \u00e0 manger.
\nEnrico goes to Cr\u00e9mieu by bike, Paul joins by car with Kristen and David. They make a quick tour of the city. Tonight we invited Ariane and Renato to eat.

Une fois Enrico reparti chez lui, il reste encore quelques bambous, c\u2019est moi qui vais vider la remorque \u00e0 la v\u00e9getterie. Kristen d\u00e9cape un portique \u00e0 la brosse, si bien qu\u2019il ne sera m\u00eame pas n\u00e9cessaire de le lessiver avant de repasser de la lasure. Mais Kristen devient surtout la sp\u00e9cialiste de la serre, c\u2019est elle qui arrose, d\u00e9sherbe, et pour finir dispose de la paille protectrice autour de chaque plant.

\nOnce Enrico left home, there are still some bamboos, I’m going to empty the trailer to the \u00ab\u00a0v\u00e9getterie\u00a0\u00bb (the place where the city compost plants). Kristen cleans a portico with a brush, so it will not even be necessary to wash it before to spread a protective product. But Kristen mostly becomes the specialist of the greenhouse, she does watering, weeding, and finally installs the protective straw around each plant.

\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

David aussi fait du d\u00e9sherbage \u00e0 la main autour de la mare. Mais surtout il a coup\u00e9 des bambous<\/em>, d\u00e9racin\u00e9 des bambous<\/em>, empil\u00e9 des bambous<\/em> dans la remorque, et encore il a r\u00e9par\u00e9 dans le jardin potager les structures de bambous<\/em> o\u00f9 nous faisons pousser m\u00fbres et framboises. Ne dites jamais \u00ab\u00a0bambou<\/em>\u00a0\u00bb devant lui, sa r\u00e9action serait impr\u00e9visible\u00a0! Et ne dites pas quelle esp\u00e8ce de plante il a bien pu passer dans le broyeur\u2026

\nDavid also weeds by hand around the pond. But above all he cut bamboos<\/em>, uprooted bamboos<\/em>, piled bamboos<\/em> in the trailer, and again he repaired in the vegetable garden the bamboo<\/em> structures where we grow blackberries and raspberries. Une fois termin\u00e9es les heures de labeur, Kristen et David ont du temps pour eux\u00a0: ils peuvent partir en balade, et quand c\u2019est possible nous partons tous les quatre. Bien s\u00fbr, ils ont \u00e9t\u00e9 invit\u00e9s avec nous quand nous sommes all\u00e9s manger chez Ariane et Renato. Puis nous avons fait un tour au salon du vin de Salagnon. J\u2019avais pr\u00e9vu d\u2019y aller en v\u00e9lo, mais la m\u00e9t\u00e9o n\u2019\u00e9tait pas de mon c\u00f4t\u00e9.
\nOnce the hours of work are over, Kristen and David have time for them: they can go on a ride, and when it’s possible we go all four. Of course, they were invited with us when we went to eat at Ariane and Renato. Then we went to the Salagnon wine fair. I had planned to go by bike, but the weather was not on my side.

\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

David et Kristen nous ont gentiment offert de l\u2019excellent fromage achet\u00e9 sur ce salon. Au retour, nous sommes all\u00e9s au jardin installer des protections sur les pommes de terre, le gel \u00e9tait annonc\u00e9 encore une fois.
\nDavid and Kristen kindly offered us excellent cheese bought at this fair. When we returned, we went to the garden to install protections on the potatoes, the frost was announced once again.<\/strong><\/p>\n

David d\u00e9couvre la ferme \u00ab\u00a0l\u2019Abreuvoir\u00a0\u00bb avec moi, et en rentrant, munie de ma provision de lait, je lui montre comment je pr\u00e9pare les yaourts.
\nDavid discovers the farm \u00ab\u00a0l’Abreuvoir\u00a0\u00bb with me, and on my way home, provided with my supply of milk, I show him how I prepare yogurts.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Il faut bien aussi pr\u00e9parer le retour au Canada, dans moins d\u2019un mois maintenant, apr\u00e8s tous ces pays visit\u00e9s : Kristen et David visitent leur future maison.
\nThey must also think of returning to Canada, in less than a month now, after visiting all these countries: Kristen and David visit their future home.<\/strong><\/p>\n

ET LES AUTRES ?
\nAu mois de mars, Lily Luca donnait un concert chez nous : c\u2019est ici qu\u2019elle a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 pour la premi\u00e8re fois au public la chanson qu\u2019elle devait proposer le lendemain pour le tremplin \u00ab\u00a0\u00c0 nos chansons\u00a0\u00bb. Pour ce tremplin, il s\u2019agissait pour les finalistes d\u2019interpr\u00e9ter une de leurs propres chansons et une de Pierre Perret. C\u2019est ainsi que nous avons \u00e9t\u00e9 invit\u00e9s \u00e0 faire les ch\u0153urs pour \u00ab\u00a0les baisers\u00a0\u00bb de Pierre Perret, revisit\u00e9s par Lily \u2014 des ch\u0153urs un peu sp\u00e9ciaux<\/a>.
\nEh bien nous avons beaucoup ri\u00a0! Le 2 mai, Lily nous apprend que le Grand Prix lui a \u00e9t\u00e9 remis en mains propres par Pierre Perret lui-m\u00eame ! Toutes les personnes pr\u00e9sentes aux derni\u00e8res Kalyneries Paulifauniques ont une petite part dans cette belle r\u00e9ussite.
\nAND THE OTHERS ?<\/strong>
\nIn March, Lily Luca gave a concert in our home: here, she presented for the first time to the public the song she was to propose the next day for le tremplin<\/em> \u00ab\u00a0\u00c0 nos chansons\u00a0\u00bb. For this tremplin<\/em>, the finalists had to interpret one of their own songs and one of Pierre Perret. Thus we were invited to do the choirs for \u00ab\u00a0les baisers\u00a0\u00bb the song of Pierre Perret, revisited by Lily – some special choirs<\/a>.<\/strong>
\nWell we laughed a lot! On May 2nd, Lily informs us that le Grand Prix<\/em> was handed to her personally by Pierre Perret himself! Everyone present at the latest Kalyneries Paulifauniques have a small share in this great success.<\/strong><\/p>\n

HISTOIRE R\u00c9CENTE
\nJe rencontre Odette \u00e0 la ferme o\u00f9 je vais chaque jeudi chercher ma commande aupr\u00e8s d\u2019un groupement de producteurs bio. Elle a appris l\u2019existence du camp d\u2019Arandon tout r\u00e9cemment, il faudra que je reparle ici de ces dramatiques \u00e9v\u00e9nements.
\nJe souhaite parler aussi des innombrables d\u00e9bats que nous avons avec Kristen et David, sur des sujets non moins innombrables.
\nRECENT HISTORY<\/strong>
\nI meet Odette at the farm where I go every Thursday to get my order from a group of organic producers. She learned of the existence of le camp d’Arandon<\/em> just recently, I will have to talk again about these dramatic events.<\/strong>
\nI also wish to speak about the innumerable debates we have with Kristen and David, on no less innumerable topics.<\/strong><\/p>\n
