Le mal est partout : notre cher pr\u00e9sident de r\u00e9gion, bien connu pour avoir accord\u00e9 de scandaleuses subventions aux soci\u00e9t\u00e9s de chasse qui ne savent plus quoi en faire, a coup\u00e9 parmi d\u2019autres celles destin\u00e9es \u00e0 la lutte contre le frelon asiatique. J\u2019ai assez parl\u00e9 de cette sale b\u00eate, je pr\u00e9cise seulement que, si j\u2019ai tout bien compris (Jacky, dis-moi si je me trompe !), quand il y a une reine en d\u00e9but d\u2019ann\u00e9e, il peut y en avoir 200 ou jusqu\u2019\u00e0 300 l\u2019ann\u00e9e suivante. <\/strong>
J\u2019ai de la chance, je ne crains pas les piq\u00fbres de gu\u00eape : j\u2019ai eu un peu peur en me faisant piquer par le frelon asiatique quand je suis pass\u00e9e trop pr\u00e8s des d\u00e9bris du nid d\u00e9truit. J\u2019aurais pu utiliser le s\u00e8che-cheveux pour faire chauffer la zone de la piq\u00fbre, car le venin est d\u00e9truit \u00e0 quarante degr\u00e9s. J\u2019ai pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9 prendre un bain de pied dans l\u2019eau \u00e0 quarante degr\u00e9s. Puis j\u2019ai mis de l\u2019huile essentielle de lavande et je n\u2019ai pas tard\u00e9 \u00e0 oublier l\u2019incident.<\/strong>

I’m lucky, wasp stings don’t bother me : I got a little scared of being stung by the Asian hornet when I passed too close to the debris of the destroyed nest. I could have used the hair dryer to heat the sting area, as the venom is destroyed at forty degrees. I preferred to take a foot bath in water at forty degrees. Then I put some lavender essential oil and it didn’t take long for me to forget the incident.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

J\u2019ai fait seulement quelques clich\u00e9s des acteurs lorsqu\u2019ils finissaient de se pr\u00e9parer. Tous deux assumaient chacun un jeu difficile, des r\u00f4les forts, intenses, et cela m\u2019a frapp\u00e9e de voir Fred dans les coulisses l\u2019instant d\u2019avant, et sur sc\u00e8ne, presque m\u00e9connaissable, rentr\u00e9 instantan\u00e9ment dans son r\u00f4le.<\/strong>
I didn’t take many pictures of Jack, fearing to disturb. For the same reason, I did not take any photos during the performance of \u00ab l\u2019emprise de la passion \u00bb, \u00ab The Grip of Passion \u00bb, a grueling farce, by Compagnie En Apart\u00e9. I only took a few shots of the actors when they finished getting ready. Both took on a difficult game, strong, intense roles, and it struck me to see Fred backstage the moment before, and on stage, almost unrecognizable, instantly back in his role.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

Mais j\u2019ai pris des photos de Lolo, Claude et Paul en plein travail : H\u00e9l\u00e8ne et Marie s\u2019installent dans une ferme pour devenir paysannes-boulang\u00e8res. Claude a propos\u00e9 de les aider en r\u00e9parant la vieille batteuse, Paul a \u00e9t\u00e9 tout de suite d\u2019accord, et Lolo n\u2019a pas h\u00e9sit\u00e9 \u00e0 participer ! Rappelez-vous les frelons : ils \u00e9taient juste au-dessus de leur t\u00eate pendant qu\u2019ils d\u00e9montaient les vieux cadres en bois pour les remplacer\u2026<\/strong>
But I took pictures of Lolo, Claude and Paul hard at work: H\u00e9l\u00e8ne and Marie settle on a farm to become peasant bakers. Claude offered to help them by fixing the old threshing machine, Paul immediately agreed, and Lolo did not hesitate to participate! Remember the hornets: they were right over their heads as they dismantled the old wooden frames to replace them…

Nous sommes all\u00e9s jusqu\u2019\u00e0 cette nouvelle ferme (vieille aussi !) pour livrer les grilles remises en \u00e9tat. La batteuse est une magnifique vieille chose. J\u2019ai film\u00e9 le d\u00e9marrage, il s\u2019est fait dans un bruit infernal ! Il a fallu plusieurs jours aux paysannes-boulang\u00e8res pour optimiser les r\u00e9glages de la machine.<\/strong>
We drove to this new farm (also old!) to deliver the refurbished sieves. The thresher is a wonderful old thing. I filmed the start, it was done with an infernal noise! It took several days for the peasant bakers to optimize the settings of the machine.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

J\u2019ai film\u00e9 aussi la fanfare \u00ab Tonnerre de Brens \u00bb qui jouait dans le cadre d\u2019une soir\u00e9e \u00ab cin\u00e9-lauze* \u00bb. Alfred est un chef d\u2019orchestre extraordinaire, excellent musicien, capable de vous tirer des sons de n\u2019importe quoi. Il participe \u00e0 des spectacles musicaux vari\u00e9s. La fanfare est l\u00e0, presque au complet ; elle compte des d\u00e9butants et des musiciens chevronn\u00e9s, et \u00e7a fonctionne.<\/span>

I also filmed the \u00ab Tonnerre de Brens \u00bb fanfare playing as part of a \u00ab cin\u00e9-lauze* \u00bb evening. Alfred is an amazing conductor, excellent musician, able to get you sounds out of anything. He participates in various musical shows. The band is there, almost complete; it has beginners and seasoned musicians, and it works.

When it gets dark enough, we watch a remarkable film, \u00ab la visite de la fanfare \u00bb, \u00ab Visit of the Band \u00bb. \u00ab It’s a Franco-American-Israeli film directed by Eran Kolirin, released in 2007, \u00bb Wikipedia tells us. The Alexandria police band invited to Israel finds itself lost in a village forgotten by all. I am touched by the deep humanity of the characters, by their distress. Mais en cherchant \u00e0 retrouver des traces de cette aide sur le web, c\u2019est au Qu\u00e9bec que j\u2019ai trouv\u00e9 l\u2019organisme \u00ab \u00e9coute agricole \u00bb. \u00ab Des travailleurs de rang pr\u00e9sents dans les Laurentides et en Outaouais pour vous aider \u00bb depuis 2015.<\/strong>
At this point in my story, I remember that there are associations supporting peasants: if some of them have an immense fortune, far too many live below the poverty line while the working day has no end. Farmers are very often isolated. The agricultural suicide rate is well above average. I had talked about it with Philippe from the farm \u00ab l\u2019Abreuvoir \u00bb where I go once a week to pick up my order: l’Abreuvoir is part of a distribution network. Philippe (the father of Marie, the peasant-baker) is one of the volunteers who listen to peasants in distress.<\/span><\/strong>
But while trying to find traces of this help on the web, it was in Quebec that I found the organization \u00ab \u00e9coute agricole \u00bb, \u00ab agricultural listening \u00bb. \u00ab Rank workers present in the Laurentians and Outaouais to help you \u00bb since 2015.<\/span><\/strong>

Despite the heat, this festival took place in a really friendly atmosphere. I went to the open stage without really preparing; with Fran\u00e7oise and Jacques we proposed some traditional pieces.<\/span><\/strong>
At the end of the afternoon, we attended a theater performance performed by Christ\u00e8le, from the Compagnie le Cri de la Langouste. J\u00e9r\u00f4me Laronze was murdered by the police in 2017. He was a farmer who \u00ab went into resistance \u00bb against agribusiness. Christ\u00e8le recounts the difficult journey of this peasant pushed to the limit, the text is magnificent, poetic, well played.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n
