Le fil conducteur, c\u2019est la succession des heures au cours de cette journ\u00e9e, mais on a de la peine \u00e0 le suivre avec les innombrables interf\u00e9rences des innombrables souvenirs\u00a0: mon conseil, ne le suivez pas. This book begins at nine o’clock, first chapter, and ends at midnight, last chapter. This text is not just a story: in an interview, B\u00fcbu made the sad observation, his youth already far behind him, of the increase in poverty for some and that of wealth for others – we have everything failed, he said, since it could have happened. Michel B\u00fchler worries about our dehumanization. It appears in this beautiful song, \u00ab\u00a0si le temps\u00a0\u00bb, \u00ab\u00a0if the time\u00a0\u00bb, \u00ab\u00a0Where the deafened man as if drunk \/ from his battle to survive \/ no longer knows how to greet the flowers\u00a0\u00bb<\/em>\u2026 I find exactly the same idea here: \u00ab\u00a0we no longer see the sea, nor the white bird that lets itself be carried by the wind (\u2026) without anything that transcends us. \u00bb<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

Apr\u00e8s tous ces jours d\u2019absence, de r\u00eaverie, de sommeil \u00e0 toute heure du jour et de la nuit, j\u2019ai pu recommencer \u00e0 lire. \u00ab\u00a0Cabarete\u00a0\u00bb n\u2019a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 facile \u00e0 aborder, puis je m\u2019y suis plong\u00e9e avec d\u00e9lice. Du fond de mon fauteuil j\u2019ai accompagn\u00e9 B\u00fcbu dans ses errances. C\u2019\u00e9tait de nous deux celui qui en ferait le moins. En m\u00eame temps, \u00e0 chaque page, le lecteur attrape une de ses id\u00e9es qui sont belles\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0Les valeurs auxquelles je suis attach\u00e9 sont celles de l\u2019humanisme. Je crois en l\u2019homme, en la bonne part qu\u2019il y a en l\u2019homme.\u00a0\u00bb<\/em><\/strong>

Covid has drained me of all my energy. I spent days and days sleeping. The hardest thing was to get out of bed, and from that moment only one thought, to go back there. After all these days of absence, daydreaming, sleeping at all hours of the day and night, I was able to start reading again. \u00ab\u00a0Cabarete\u00a0\u00bb wasn’t easy to get into, then I dove into it with delight. From the bottom of my armchair I accompanied B\u00fcbu in his wanderings. It was the two of us who would do the least. At the same time, on each page, the reader catches one of his ideas which are beautiful: \u00ab\u00a0The values to which I am attached are those of humanism. I believe in man, in the good part that there is in man. \u00bb<\/em><\/span><\/strong>

Special mention for the last page in which he quotes Yvan Leyvraz one last time. About the Contras<\/em>, those who will be his assassins, Yvan says:<\/span><\/strong>

J\u2019ai un immense regret\u00a0: que B\u00fcbu nous ait quitt\u00e9s, bien s\u00fbr. Pas seulement. J\u2019aurais d\u00fb lire son \u00ab\u00a0Cabarete\u00a0\u00bb bien plus t\u00f4t, \u00e9crire cette chronique il y a longtemps, alors j\u2019aurai pu lui \u00e9crire pour l\u2019inviter \u00e0 me lire. Il avait toujours r\u00e9pondu tr\u00e8s gentiment aux rares messages que je lui avais exp\u00e9di\u00e9s, j\u2019esp\u00e8re qu\u2019il aurait appr\u00e9ci\u00e9 ma lecture de son livre.<\/strong>
I have a huge regret: that B\u00fcbu left us, of course. Not only. I should have read his \u00ab\u00a0Cabarete\u00a0\u00bb much earlier, written this column a long time ago, so I could have written to him inviting him to read me.
